At Basalt Bahamas, we are on a mission to reshape the future of our Country and the Construction, Automotive, and Marine industries by championing the integration of smart building materials and systems.
Our vision is centered on creating buildings, automotive components, and marine solutions that prioritize the well-being of their owners and we are equally dedicated to the sustainable well-being of our country and the planet.
Commitment to Sustainability
We proudly collaborate with one of a leading Basalt manufacturer, renowned for their groundbreaking research in materials.
These materials are not only unique but are also innovative, non-toxic, non-hazardous, sustainable, and entirely recyclable.
This collaboration positions us at the forefront of the construction, automotive, and marine industries, embracing an integrated approach to creating a greener, more sustainable future.
Our Vision:
Choosing the Right Path Forward
Today, the choices we make in building materials, automotive components, and marine solutions transcend mere aesthetics and durability. People are increasingly considering the long-term impact on total heating and cooling costs, as well as the broader environmental footprint.
The buildings of tomorrow must strike a balance between providing comfort, harnessing natural light, ensuring safety, and seamlessly functioning in an integrated, dynamic manner. Automotive and marine solutions must also meet these evolving sustainability demands.
At Basalt Bahamas, we are dedicated to navigating this path forward.
We believe in redefining the essence of sustainable construction, automotive design, and marine solutions, offering a vision of a brighter, more ecologically sound future.
Join us as we embark on this journey to craft healthier, smarter, and more sustainable buildings, automotive innovations, and marine solutions for all.

Basalt Bahamas Takes Pride In Introducing Innovative Basalt Volcanic Rock Fiber Products For The Construction And Composites Industries To The Bahamas.
Our range of basalt volcanic rock fiber products offers a compelling alternative for both the construction and composites sectors. These fibers outshine traditional materials such as fiberglass, carbon fibers, and Aramids in terms of strength and durability. Notably, they are a natural and more eco-friendly choice, providing enhanced safety and superior properties.
Basalt fibers, unlike their counterparts, are exceptionally resilient to impacts and are essentially pultruded filaments of pure rock. What sets them apart is their remarkable chemical resistance, tolerance to acids and salts, and an ability to withstand extreme temperature variations.
Furthermore, basalt fiber is considered safe and non-respirable (though precautions should be taken when sanding). It boasts UV resistance, offers a flexural modulus over 24% higher than fiberglass (making it stiffer yet flexible), is non-conductive, and does not interfere with RF communication signals.
In the construction sector, basalt fiber, being entirely rock based, expands and contracts at the same rate as concrete when used for reinforcements. Our product range includes basalt rebar, basalt mesh, and basalt chopped fibers.
Notably, basalt rebar is 2-3 times stronger in tension than steel while being over 70% lighter and corrosion resistant. Basalt meshes and fibers contribute to preventing cracking and can enhance resilience against earthquakes and severe storms at an affordable cost.
In the realm of composites, basalt excels in impact resistance and moisture resistance, outperforming many other fibers. It is not prone to water absorption and dries quickly, making it a safer and more workable option. It exhibits excellent compatibility with resins, easy cutting and shaping capabilities, and is adaptable to curved surfaces.
The remarkable strength of basalt, especially in sporting goods like skis, offers superior durability and responsiveness. Compared to carbon, which can be expensive and overly stiff, and fiberglass, which may lack the required stiffness, basalt strikes the perfect balance.

Basalt-infused materials have been successfully applied in various products, from snowboards and surfboards to foils, skateboards, tennis rackets, and even winning a Wimbledon tennis racket accolade. Additionally, basalt fiber excels in applications like prosthetics and cryogenics due to its extreme temperature resistance.
In the automotive industry, basalt composites are revolutionizing the production of lighter, more impact-resistant, and recyclable parts.
The future holds great promise for hybrid materials combining basalt with natural fibers and bio-based resins, offering unparalleled properties including increased strength, longevity, non-conductivity, UV resistance, non-flammability, and resistance to bacterial or microbial growth.
In essence, the potential applications of basalt in composites are vast, offering the opportunity to make a wide range of products stronger and safer.
